Chelsea match winner Enzo Fernandez: ‘I want to continue in this way’
Argentina’s Enzo Fernandez who helped beat both Villa and Crystal Palace in recent matches said he wanted to continue what he was doing.
The player had stunned Aston Villa’s squad with a surprise free-kick goal, before using a late strike to seal Crystal Palace’s fate — all in the same week.
‘I try to do my best to help my team-mates and the club,’ he said to chelseafc.com. ‘Luckily I’m getting the goals, so I’m happy and I want to continue in this way.
‘I give my best in every training session and try to be better every day. Things are coming together and that makes me very happy.’
Though things were not going well for Chelsea on the Premier League table, The London Blues are preparing for the Carabao Cup final against The Merseyside Reds.
The match which will take place at Wembley Stadium is of great importance to Chelsea whose last match against Liverpool did not end well for the Londoners.
While speaking during the interview, Fernandez mentioned that there was still a long way to the end of the season, and that the team can still win titles before the end.
‘There’s a long way to go until the end of the season.
‘We are working hard every day, all the players and the coaching staff. We are moving forward and doing our best.
‘We’re on the right track and hopefully, we can win two titles this season. That’s what we’re looking to do.’
Next up for The Blues is a Premier League match on February 12 against Crystal Palace.
