The Londoners are among clubs to whom this season has not being the ideal one, having suffered setbacks at the beginning of the season which seem to show no signs of abating.

However, they have surprised football fans on several occasions and show promises of picking a title by the end.

Speaking following a sad conclusion of their contest with Brentford who nearly emerged the winner but was stopped by a late equalizer (which made the final tally 2–2), Petrovic was optimistic about their race today against Newcastle.

‘We have big games coming up in both the Premier League and the FA Cup and there is still so much for us to achieve this season,’ he said.

Though he admitted that Brentford was a formidable opponent during the game, he was unhappy about the outcome.

‘Of course, we are not happy with this result because our goal for every game is to take three points.

‘We were in control in the first half but in the second half, we conceded two goals and then we had a fight on our hands. Credit to Brentford, they played a good game but we are not happy because our goal was to win this game.

‘Now, we must focus on the next game and putting it right against Newcastle. With the game being on Monday night, we have a lot of time to recover and focus on what we need to do to get the three points there.’

Today the Blues will have to beat an interesting Newcastle in the presence of their loud fans at London.
