A picture showing Manchester United’s 2023–2024 squad has surfaced on TikTok, with Manchester United’s outcast-and-English-international, Jadon Sancho, missing.

The development has sparked surprise and sadness alike as spectators discuss the half-unexpected direction things took. Both Jadon Sancho and Manchester United’s coach Erik Ten Hag have refused to loosen the deadlock that caused the club losses on the pitch, controlled by what seems to be their egos.

Erik Ten Hag set the ball that caused the fallout rolling when he accused Jadon Sancho in a post-match press conference, saying he was not included in the team that played the match because of how badly the player performed during training.

Many, including ex-Nigerian player John Mikel Obi, have condemned this move, saying that the coach threw Jadon Sancho under the bus by doing this.

In reply to this defamatory statement (as Sancho must have seen it), the player went over to his social media handle and posted, ‘Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training very well this week.

‘I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into, I’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!

‘All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team. I respect all decision that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and grateful to do so which I know every week is a challenge. I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!’

In reply to this action, which Ten Hag thought was insubordination, the coach banned the player from the first team and their facilities at Manchester United until Sancho apologized. The sanction failed.

Just recently, the squad picture of Manchester United players expected to be part of the club’s 2024 campaign was posted on TikTok, with Sancho excluded. Many think it is confirming the rumour that Jadon Sancho will leave in January during the transfer window.

What made this theory most supported by the picture was that even injured players and players presently not appearing on the pitch for Manchester United were in the official photo. The club has continued to pay Jadon Sancho his full salary because his being out of action was not his fault. Sancho has at no time indicated he did not want to play for the club.
