Jadon Sancho could return to Borussia Dortmund next week

Manchester United and former Borussia Dortmund player Jadon Sancho could return to the latter club next week.

This is because of the marathon standoff going on between the player and the coach Erik Ten Hag. Sancho has not played for the Red Devils since August following a serious disagreement with Ten Hag.

United signed Sancho from Borussia Dortmund for £73m during the 2021 summer transfer window, but are presently paying the player while the dreadlock between him and Then Hag continue. Sancho has not played for Manchester United since August last year and has been training apart from the main team as ordered by Ten Hag.

The English player is expected to stay at Borussia Dortmund for the remaining six months of the season, after which he might either return to United or get signed back by Borussia Dortmund.

It is yet unspecified whether the player’s huge salary would be paid entirely by Borussia Dortmund or in collaboration with Manchester United.

Sancho could return to Manchester United and start working till his contract with them ends, as Manchester United will have Sancho in their ranks till 2026, and can extend it by one year if they and the player agree.

Some spectators are looking to see whether Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s takeover of signings will cause Sancho’s reintegration into the club, since one thing is sure: Ten Hag might find it hard to change his verdict.

The problem started with Ten Hag’s public criticism of Sancho. Ten Hag said that Sancho was not training well and therefore was not part of the team that played against Arsenal then.

Sancho defended himself by an Instagram post the coach found disrespectful. Since then, Ten Hag has been waiting for a sincere apology from Sancho.
