Mauricio Pochettino discusses two players ahead of Premier League match
Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino talked about two of his players ahead of a serious test that will take place during Chelsea’s match against Manchester City on Saturday.
One player on whom both home and away eyes would be is Cole Palmer whose Football Academy years and past career period were spent at City.
The player has already stopped his former club from beating the London Blues by providing an equalizer following their lead (4–3) earlier this year.
Even though Palmer recently said during an interview that he would have a weird feeling at Etihad Stadium tomorrow, fans of Chelsea would be expecting him to push past such distraction and make their attendance worthwhile.
Coach Mauricio Pochettino observed the following about him while speaking to Chelseafc.com ahead of the game:
‘He’s not the type of player who feels he needs to prove anything.
‘He is very grateful for his period at Manchester City, but he wanted to find another challenge.
‘He is playing a lot of games here and he is going back there to try to play and perform for him and his team.’
Another squad member Pochettino talked about was Enzo Fernandez who scored during the Chelsea’s two previous matches. Fernandez sent home a free kick against Aston Villa and later scored the final goal in Chelsea’s match against Crystal Palace.
The coach said the following about Fernandez:
‘We’ve always known he is a player with the capacity to use his quality in our build-up, but also that he could arrive in the opposition box with the ability to score,’ explained the Chelsea boss.
‘He now has the capacity to move, to run. He is improving a lot. That is why now we can see him building up, but also scoring goals like in the last minute against Palace, where he ran 70 or 60 metres.
‘He is improving a lot. It is all about time. He is a player with the capacity to play box-to-box but also score goals with the technique that he has.’
Chelsea’s form is improving, but to defeat the current Manchester City who holds the second place on the Premier League table will be a hard hill to climb.
Chelsea still lies behind in the tenth place.
